Free Books and Beautiful Libraries
Tis the season for cozying up by a fire (or a pool for my South Florida friends) with a book. This week's Bold City Pop's visit to our library for the National Digital Book Tour has me thinking of some of my favorite reads.
I mostly read non-fiction. Real life stories of everyday people are powerful. When I first read Dance of the Dissident Daughter by Sue Monk Kidd, there were days I could only read a couple of pages at a time. I needed to process what she said and what she said was so life-giving, I could only read one or two pages per sitting.
Here are four additional books on my favorites list.
- The Bone Woman by Clea Koff
- Spiritual Midwifery by Ina Mae Gaskins
- I Am Charlotte Simmons by Tom Wolf
- No Matter the Wreckage, Poems by Sarah Kay
Do you prefer fiction or non-fiction? Libraries or bookstores? Whatever your preferences, I wish for you a holiday filled with plenty of time to do the things you love. We are thankful for you.
